Programme Overview

The Diploma in Traditional Arabic and Islamic Sciences is a structured five-year academic programme grounded in the renowned Dars e Nizami syllabus. This programme has been meticulously designed to provide a thorough and comprehensive study of the Arabic language in conjunction with a comprehensive study of classical sciences. The acquisition of knowledge in these areas will equip students with the essential skills and expertise required to emerge as scholars of Islam. Additionally, it provides students with a transferable skillset facilitating growth, leadership, independence, and self-initiative, all of which contribute to producing community leaders in the contemporary, post-modern era.

Programme Outcomes

Develop a well-rounded understanding of various schools of thought and fundamental disciplines within the Islamic tradition and their historical contexts.

Provide students with the opportunity to gain in-depth and critical expertise in essential theories, principles, and texts within the Islamic tradition.

Equip students with problem-solving and practical skills deeply rooted in the Islamic tradition, enabling them to accurately apply and interpret it in light of current challenges posed by modern society.

Programme Structure

In accordance with the academic calendar, the programme is structured into three terms.

Term 1 - September to December,

Term 2 - January to Ramadan,

Term 3 - Post-Ramadan until July.

In addition to their designated teaching hours, students are required to allocate 10/12 hours a week for preparation and revision.

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows;

  • All applicants must be over the age of 16;

  • All applicants must have a good understanding of the English language;

  • All applicants must have good GCSE results or their equivalent, and

  • All applicants must be able to provide suitable references.

Fees and Finance

The tuition fee for each academic year is £2,000 for on-campus students and £2,250 for online students, which can be paid termly or annually.
