Mawlana Muhammad Hasan Patel

Mawlana Muhammad Hasan began his studies under the guidance of Mufti Muhammad Ayyub Ashrafi. Upon completion of his A-Levels, he moved to Jamia Al-Karam, Retford, Nottinghamshire where he completed the six year course, under the guidance of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, culminating with takhassus fi’l-fiqh (specialisation in Islamic Law). He continued his studies in Egypt where he was granted ijazah in the qira’ah of Imam Hafs from Shaykh Ashraf Hamid Hasanain al-Azhari. Whilst there, he benefitted from the public lessons at Al-Azhar Mosque and an Imam training course at the World Organisation of al-Azhar Graduates.

Since returning to the UK, he has been Imam at Masjid E Ghosia, Bolton for the last four years and Deputy Head Teacher of the Madrasah. He delivers weekly courses for the youth and adults on the evenings and weekends. During the school holidays he delivers the Role Models Sessions to inspire the next generation and instil an Islamic ethos from a young age.

Over the years, he has translated several books by Shaykh Pirzada from Urdu to English allowing knowledge to be more accessible to English speakers. In 2023 he graduated with a Master’s degree in MA Religion, Culture and Society from the University of Central Lancashire.
